Google Meet a video communication service offered by Google is now setting a limit to its meetings. The limit will be only to its free users for about 60 minutes. Meet is a solution that google developed to rival against Zoom. Google mentions this as a replacement to Google Hangouts and Google Chat.
Google in April 2020 made this feature available to everyone apart from businesses and schools. Since then it has offered 24 hours limit to conduct meetings. Google mentioned that they will end the free meeting for everyone in September 2020. But Google thought of extending this service in order for everyone to connect with their loved ones in the pandemic. This time limit won’t be applicable to one-on-one video calls. The time limit is for meeting having participants equal to or more than three. These new guidelines have been reported by 9to5Google.
If you want to have a 24-hour limit video meetings then you should be subscribe to Google Workspace. The monthly subscription for the Workspace is $8 that is nearly Rs. 600. There will be a notification sent to everyone at 55 minutes that the meeting will end in 5 minutes. The host of the meeting will get a notification mentioning to subscribe to continue the meeting after 60 minutes. Only the host needs to upgrade his Google account in order to prolong the meeting.
Google offers subscription for the Workspace in two plans. The Google Workspace Essential that costs $8 and anyone can subscribe to that plan. Another plan is the Enterprise subscription for which you need to contact the sales person from Google.
