Google Pay now lets users transfer money from the US to India and Singapore

Google Pay now lets users from the US transfer money to their friends and family in India and Singapore. With this, the company entries into the remittance market. Google has partnered with Western Union and Wise to enable the new service. Google, for now, only has a limit to send money to only India and Singapore but is looking to expand the service to 280 other countries in the future. With this update, Google Pay will be attracting more migrants from the US.

In a blog post, Google mentioned that Western Union would offer users unlimited money through Google Pay until June 16th for free. On the other hand, Wise will offer the first free transfer for new customers up to $500. Google has not yet declared the exact transfer rates after the initial offerings.

Before you start using Google Pay to transfer money from the US to India and Singapore has some limits. The transfer of money is only limited to individual users. You can’t send money to any businesses in India or Singapore. And Google Pay Users from India or Singapore can’t send money to users in the US.

How to send money on Google Pay from the US to India or Singapore:

To send money through Google Pay, search for the User you want to send money to. Tap the pay button and then select either Western Union or Wise. Then press the continue button and see the exact amount the user will receive. Now tap on the continue button and choose how you want the recipient to receive the money.

By the end of the year, Google is looking to expand the foreign money transfers via the Google Pay app to more than 200 countries using the Western Union. Wise offers payment to 80 countries.
