We all might delete a post or video or reel or IGTV from our Instagram account at some point in time. After that, we feel sad about deciding to delete it. If we want to have that post again, then we might have to re-upload it again. There are scenarios where some hackers get access to our account and delete posts from the account. To overcome this issue, Instagram is adding this new feature called “Recently Deleted.”
This Recently Deleted feature applies to all photos, videos, reels, and IGTV videos. Users can even restore the stories but will be remaining only for 24 hours in the folder. In a post announcing this feature, Instagram mentioned that this is the most asked feature by the users. Instagram also has leveled up its security to prevent the deletion of posts by hackers.
How to access this feature?
To access this feature, users have to go to Instagram Settings > Account > Recently Deleted. This is just similar to all the recently deleted Apple or Google’s photos apps. All the media files will remain in the recently deleted folder for only 30 days. The post after restoration will be back where it was either in the profile grid or archive folder.
Before you either delete or restore, users must verify that they are the account’s rightful owners. This can be done by a text message via email with a One-Time Password(OTP). Only after a successful verification user can use this feature. This is the extra layer of Security Instagram was telling in their post.
Instagram mentions this will be rolling out to the general public. I from India using an Android phone haven’t got the update till now. If you have got the update to let us know about it.
So that’s it for now. Thank you for reading, and please do share the article within your circles if you loved reading it. Also, keep an eye on this space to get relevant updates. Stay safe, and we hope to see you around.
