Jeff Bezos is one of the most influential people and the world’s richest person. He has been the CEO of Amazon since he founded the company out of his garage back in 1994. Jeff Bezos as CEO and his core principles keep Amazon on top. Starting from online shopping, Amazon is almost everywhere: Books, Gaming, Streaming, Cloud Computing, AI, Consumer Electronics, and a lot more.

Now, after 27 years of being the CEO of his own company, Bezos is planning to step down from the role to take the role of executive chair on Amazon’s board.

Bezos wrote an official letter to the employees saying, In Q3, he’ll transition to the Executive Chair role of the Amazon board, at which point Andy Jassy will take over as CEO.

Jassy joined Amazon in 1997 and founded AWS, the least known and best profitable segment of Amazon, in 2003. He has been the CEO of AWS ever since then.

“In the Exec Chair role, I intend to focus my energies and attention on new products and early initiatives. Andy is well known inside the company and has been at Amazon almost as long as I have. He will be an outstanding leader, and he has my full confidence.”, wrote Bezos in his letter.

“As Exec Chair, I will stay engaged in important Amazon initiatives but also have the time and energy I need to focus on the Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post, and my other passions. I’ve never had more energy, and this isn’t about retiring. I’m super passionate about the impact I think these organizations can have.”, he added.

The other big CEOs responded to Bezos’ transition.
