We have got another new feature from WhatsApp to view the status. Since the company has released the status feature it has been updating it with some features of its own. Now in the beta version the regular tipster has WABetainfo said you can view the status by clicking the profile. It is something that is similar to the Instagram’s story, where you will can tap on the contact’s icon to view.
According the tipster the feature is a hidden feature in the latest beta version. This feature will let you know if the particular contact has updated the status or not with a green circle on their contact icon. Until now, we have a separate section for the chats and status. We have to just tap on your WhatsApp contact to view the status. When you tap on the contact icon you will have option to view status or their profile picture. You can view in the picture below on how the picture looks.
Though this feature is new and might be cool it kind of looks a bad move to me. Well that’s what everyone around me thought about the status update at first and started to praise it later. This feature makes WhatsApp more like the other social apps like Instagram or Twitter. I always say WhatsApp as a communicative application rather than a social app. We just have to wait and see for the official update and try the feature to get a real opinion on it.
