A few days back we have got the news that OnePlus is merging with Oppo. This merge has got raised many questions among the fans. Many of the OnePlus fans have been getting many questions regarding OxygenOS. OnePlus is also silent on the questions that users have been raising regarding the OS. So OnePlus is calling this move a “New journey for OnePlus“.
Let’s talk about the new changes that will occur to OnePlus with the merge. Oppo has got a bigger team to operate and a larger market area. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already mentioned that OnePlus has been using the resources from Oppo for 1 year. Now after the merge, OnePlus will be having more access to the resources of Oppo. We also know the news that OnePlus in their homeland has been using the colorOS instead of HydrogenOS.
While this announcement was made in the community they also mentioned that they will still continue to use OxygenOS in the global market. But after the statement of official merge statement, they have been chaos regarding the OS. OnePlus is known for its smooth software experience and updates. But when you observe closely OnePlus from the launch of the OnePlus 8 the company strategy looks different. They have changed to become a true flagship instead of being a flagship killer. With the OnePlus 9 series they have tried to level up their camera by partnering with Hasselblad. This move didn’t bring much impact to the company as expected.
After OnePlus trying to reach more users by bringing the Nord series the company has lost the game of maintaining software. The new OxygenOS 11 has brought many bugs to the phone that aren’t resolved yet. This clearly proofs the lack of support available for the software. On a positive note, OnePlus will be hugely benefited from the merge by getting some resources from Oppo.
Pete Lau has already mentioned that this will make OnePlus provide regular software updates and a smooth user experience to its users. We are not sure when OnePlus might even change from the OxygenOS to colorOS or might just stick to their words by continuing the OxygenOS.
