Apple announced two new iPads, the new Watch Series 7 and iPhone 13 lineup at yesterday’s (September 14) California Streaming event. Let’s wrap up all the highlights and give it a quick recap of all the big announcements at the Apple Event.
iPhone 13
On September 14, 2021, Apple announced the entire lineup of new iPhone 13 mobile devices. Like last year, its models are the same – iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. They are no big upgrades from last year’s iPhone 12, but iPhone 13 can be considered the best version of the iPhone 12. If you didn’t get that, I would say, iPhone 13 comes with very few improvements. Such as the notch in iPhone 13 is just 20% smaller compared to iPhone 12. The new chipset A15 Bionic is the best, but the competition is still trying to beat last year’s A14.
The battery performance is improved but not that significant, mainly in iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 Pro models. They added a new feature called Cinematic Mode to the Camera, which is really good to see. After 3 years of backlashes, Apple finally gave 120Hz refresh rate display but again only to Pro models.
The prices of the iPhone 13 series go this way:
iPhone 13 mini – $699, iPhone 13 – $799, iPhone 13 Pro – $999, iPhone 13 Pro Max – $1099.
Apple Watch Series 7
Apple announced the new Watch Series 7, which arrives later this fall with a bigger, brighter screen, thinner display borders, and faster charging. But no improvement in battery capacity.
The Apple Watch 7 also comes with a crack-resistant display for better durability. In addition, the Watch 7 features fall detection when you have a hard fall from a bicycle or other. The new Apple Watch Series 7 runs on watchOS 8.
Apple Watch 7 is IP6x dust resistant and WR50 rated water-resistant. All the older Watch 6 Straps are compatible with Watch 7 too.
The new Apple Watch Series 7 will start at $399 and comes with 3 months of free Apple Fitness+ subscription.
iPad 9
Apple’s standard 10.2-inch iPad gets the new processor A13 Bionic, an improved 12MP front camera that adopts the Center Stage feature, True Tone Display, and better low-light photography.
The new iPad runs on brand new iPadOS 15.
The iPad starts from $329, and for education purposes, it starts from $299.
iPad mini
Apple’s smallest iPad gets big improvement. After 2 years, the iPad mini got its update. The new iPad mini features, True Tone display, thin bezels, Touch ID on the power button, improved cameras, and iPadOS 15.
The iPad mini also supports Apple Pencil. The new iPad mini starts at $499.
