Apple patents a circular dial watch with a foldable display

When we hear the word smartwatch, Apple Watch is the one that comes to mind. Apple Watch has got a huge positive response since Apple has released the watch. The company since then has made some changes to the watch in each generation by adding some new sensors. While coming to the design, they didn’t make any changes to it. Since the first generation, the watch has the same square dial with a crown for navigations. But a recent Patent filing says that Apple Watch will be having a circular dial and a foldable display.

Apple is a company that loves to innovate technology in its own style. They have their own way of making things work. Until now, we have seen some innovative technologies, but on the screens of Apple, we haven’t seen any in recent times. The launch of the iPhone X has introduced the face scanner with a huge notch on the phone removing its famous biometric scanner. It has been 3 years, and still, Apple is using the same tech with some improvements in the iPhone 12 series. In comparison, rival companies like Samsung have been advancing in screen technology with a 120Hz refresh rate display and even foldable phones.

Apple maybe thinks this is the time to bring the foldable screens. Its new patent says that the company is changing the shape of the dial and will have a foldable display as a band. This means we get to see a circular Apple Watch with a foldable display band. This display will be extending smoothly from the dial of the screen to the band.

The company mentions that they will be using an array of LEDs in the display area in the patent. The company is also looking to make a bezel-less watch or even no bezels entirely. There is no fixed year on which this watch will be released. The company is also looking to change their signature Digital crown of the Apple Watch.
