Apple kicked off its digital-only WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) 2021 on Monday with some brand-new announcements. At the conference, the company showcased everything that it has been working on for months. Let’s go through all the biggest announcements Apple made at WWDC 2021.

macOS Monterey

At WWDC 2021, Apple announced a new version of macOS called Monterey. It is named after the beach town on California’s central coast. macOS Monterey brings many new features, including Universal control, which lets users work with a single mouse and keyboard and move between Mac and iPad for a seamless experience. And that requires no setup at all. Also, iOS devices can beam their screen to a Mac, thanks to AirPlay.

Apple’s Safari web browser has also got a complete redesign with new features, including tab grouping and tab bookmarking. In addition, it is more minimal and flat now. Apple also added new Shortcuts to the Mac interface, Spacial Audio to the Face Timing, and lots more.

watchOS 8

Apple introduced the new watchOS that comes with new features, including scribble writing. You can now write it on your watch with your finger and send a message. watchOS 8 also includes an updated Breathe app called Mindfulness features refreshed new visualizations and tips. The new OS also supports respiratory rate tracking while you’re asleep.

In addition, new workout types have been added, including martial arts and palates in the Workout app. A new feature called Artist Spotlight features workout playlists with music from a single artist, including Lady Gaga, Keith Urban, Alicia Keys, and Jennifer Lopez.

iPadOS 15

Apple introduced the new iPadOS 15 at WWDC 2021. iPadOS is getting tons of new features, including App Library, which automatically organizes apps. In addition, users can rearrange iPad apps by putting widgets on the screen with iPad Os 15. Apple also introduced a new multitasking interface, which makes it easier to use and more powerful.

The Notes app has been updated with a better interface. A new feature called Quick Notes allows users to jot notes using the Apple Pencil. A new Translation app update has also been announced.

iOS 15

Apple introduced iOS 15, the latest iPhone operating system. It got a ton of new features and redesigns. Face Time now supports spatial audio, portrait mode, and a grid view to enjoy group calling. Apple has also added a new feature that lets users send links to schedule individual FaceTime calls, similar to Zoom. FaceTime will now support both android and windows through browsers.

iMessage, the messaging platform, also gets a redesign. The redesigned notifications now have a brand new design on the lock screen and feature a clearer look. In addition, instead of Do not Disturb, you can set different types of notification preferences based on whether you are driving, working, or sleeping.

Apple has also updated its Maps software with 3D data. It includes turning lanes and more city details now.
