Mi from Xiaomi is looking to introduce a new display for the fitness band. Earlier this year, Mi has launched their Band 6, a successor to its previous Band 5. Now we have got some leaks showing us a new display tech in their upcoming band. Xiaomi calls it Mi Band X instead of going with continuing the naming convention.
According to the report by the Notebookcheck, Xiaomi is looking to work on a new Band screen. They also mention that this new Band might be coming with a wraparound display. The wraparound display looks similar to the Nubia Alpha from 2019. During the MWC in 2019, Nubia was showed with a 4-inch OLED wraparound display. Adding some support to the report, some pics from a leakster regarding the new Band Xiaomi is working. In this Tweet, he shows two pictures in which one has a presentation and another a translation from Chinese to English of one of the points in the display.
#Xiaomi – Xiaomi working a new watch that look very similar to Nubia Alpha Watch and it’ll be called “Mi Band X”
Specifications
– Extremely thin and light
– 360°flexible scroll screen without strap design
– Magnetic bracelet buckle
– Obsidian color full of technology#MiBandX pic.twitter.com/0hThFKZ5qA— Equal Leaks (@EqualLeaks) July 28, 2021
He even mentions the upcoming Mi Band X specifications to be lightweight with a 360-degree flexible screen. So this means you will have a display around your wrist, and it seems you will be using a magnetic buckle to lock. I hope the magnetic clip will be strong enough to stay on our hands while we work out. There is another feature that is the screen around the wrist will also be scrollable. That means you can use the screen to scroll your messages, maybe.
Apart from that, there are no other words on when the band will be available or any other specs. If we have to witness this futuristic watch, we have to at least wait for a year or more.
So, that’s been it. Thank you for reading, and do share the article if you get a bit piece of information. Also, keep an eye on this space for more relevant updates. Stay safe, and we hope to see you around.
