OnePlus Watch was the rumor earlier this year. Later, the co-founder and CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the rumor is real and it’s coming in 2021. So the OP fans are waiting to see the first-ever wearable from the company. Meanwhile, it’s been said that a fitness tracker likely called ‘OnePlus Band’ may arrive prior to the actual watch. Let’s talk.
The new rumor is that OnePlus is in plans to bring a fitness band to take on Xiaomi and Realme. According to the Android Central report, we can expect to see that in early next year before the watch’s release, maybe even before the OnePlus 9 series arrival.
Quoting insider sources, the report states that the OnePlus Band (they may call it alike) will arrive before the next year’s flagship OnePlus 9 series. We may see it in late January or early February.
As the report says, OnePlus want to take on Mi Band 5 and Realme Band; they should be very aggressive at pricing. So they may do it, bringing it in the $40 (3000 INR approx.) segment. It will feature an AMOLED display, water-resistance, and multi-day battery life. The report doesn’t have any other features mentioned. But we can expect a better heart-rate monitor, sleep tracker, and some other OnePlus unique stuff to stand out.
In addition to those, if they mount a SpO2 sensor to measure blood oxygen levels, they could easily compete with Mi Band 5. Honor Band series could give a tough competition, though it has all those features at the same price point. By the way, Honor Band 6 with a huge watch-like display will be a great choice in the market once it is launched globally. So, OnePlus may have to move accordingly.

OnePlus will first launch the fitness tracker / Band in India. Later it will take it to global markets, maybe with the OnePlus 9. And the watch seems no near. Let’s see if they surprise us with the OnePlus Watch launch alongside the OnePlus 9 series.
