Samsung has too many Buds in its lineup; let us help you pick a good one though. In this article, I’m comparing Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 vs Galaxy Buds Pro. I’m gonna divide the comparison into audio and call quality, battery life, additional features, and finally, I’ll talk about price and worth. Let’s get into it.
Galaxy Buds 2 vs Galaxy Buds Pro: Audio and Call Quality
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 supports Bluetooth 5.2, whereas the Buds Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.0. They both have a triple microphone array with VPU (voice pickup unit) for the call quality. We can expect almost similar call quality on both of them, but I give a slight edge to Buds 2 as it comes with BT 5.2. Samsung claims that Galaxy Buds 2 uses machine learning to make conversations sound more clearer.
Regarding audio quality, both the Buds offer supreme audio listening quality, But I say Buds Pro will offer slightly better audio quality, thanks to its 360-audio feature. Both Buds 2 and Buds Pro offer Active Noice Cancellation (ANC), but Samsung mentions Buds Pro has “Intelligent ANC.” In my view, both do ANC pretty well. In fact, Buds 2’s greatest in-ear fit reduces more noise.
In Samsung words, Buds Pro reduces 99% of background noise, whereas Galaxy Buds 2 reduces 98% of background noise. You decide if you want to give an edge to that 1%.
Galaxy Buds 2 vs Galaxy Buds Pro: Battery Life
Galaxy Buds 2 offers 7.5 hrs with ANC OFF and 5 hrs with ANC ON from a single charge. Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 (Earbuds + Charging Case) provides a total of 20 hrs with ANC enabled and 28 hrs with ANC disabled.
Galaxy Buds Pro offers 8 hrs with ANC OFF and 5 hrs with ANC ON from a single charge. Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro (Earbuds + Charging Case) provides a total of 18 hrs with ANC enabled and 28 hrs with ANC disabled.
Galaxy Buds 2 vs Galaxy Buds Pro: Additional Features
360 Audio is where the war goes totally one-sided. Only the Galaxy Buds Pro offers a 360 Audio with Dolby Head Tracking technology. Buds Pro provides an immense surrounding audio experience.
Both the earbuds can seamlessly switch between multiple Samsung devices, and you can track both earbuds using SmartThings Find. Both the earbuds support low latency Game mode.
Talking about In-ear fit, I’ll stand with Buds 2; they’re so comfortable and lightest earbuds that Samsung ever made.
One more thing, and it’s totally a personal opinion; the Buds 2 comes in 4 dual-tone color variants, and they are so minimal. I personally liked the Buds 2 look, mainly the color, which is inside, and all the buds 2 are white outside.
Galaxy Buds 2 vs Galaxy Buds Pro: Price
Launched at $199, Buds Pro is now available at a discounted price of $169.99. And the Galaxy Buds 2 just launched at a $149.99 price tag.
So, the question is, which one is for you?
Galaxy Buds 2 share a lot of similar features from Buds Pro for a lesser price. Although it’s an easy recommendation, if you’re the one who wants that extra 360 Audio feature, Galaxy Buds Pro is for you.
Unless that, I’ll go with Buds 2 as it offers a great in-ear fit, lightest weight, dual-tone look, and almost all the features from Buds Pro. And most importantly, it’s launched at a lesser price.
I believe you already made your purchase decision from the above information. Happy to help, and Congratulations (in advance) on your new purchase.
