Samsung has scheduled an event called ‘The First Look 2021’ for January 6. In this event, Samsung set to unveil new display technologies; along with new products and its “vision for the future of the display”. It may also launch new smart TVs and other products during this event.
Strange this is, it is scheduled just ahead of Consumer Electronics Show 2021 (CES 2021); which will go through 11th January to 14th January.
Not confirmed by the company but Samsung is most likely to launch its new TV line-up including 4K and 8K QLED TVs, Laptops, and Tablets; and will probably feature new display technology in them. It may also showcase Micro-LED and Mini-LED TVs. The invitation posture just teases the outline of products that we might see in the event.
Samsung may also announce successors to its The Frame, The Serif, The Sero lifestyle TVs, and monitors in the event.
Recently, the South Koren giant unveiled its very first 110-inch Micro-LED TV for homes which features 4K resolution, 5.1-channel speakers, zero bezels, OLED-like picture quality, and Samsung’s own Tizen operating system. Samsung claimed that its new TV features very high brightness, high contrast ratio, and immersive audio for a great audio-visual experience.
Samsung wants to skip OLED and jump straight to Micro-LED technology for its future TVs. The displays with Micro-LED can offer OLED-like quality, viewing angles, contrast, and response times. In addition to that, it eliminates the issues with OLED; such as screen burn-in and low brightness. New technologies seem to be pretty great but the real challenge lies in offering high resolution and lowering the prices.
The First Look 2021 event can be live-streamed on the company’s website from 11 a.m. EST / 9:30 pm IST.
Samsung also expected to host another event in mid-January to launch its upcoming Galaxy S series: Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. Along with recently rumored and leaked Galaxy Buds Pro.
