These days shopping through WhatsApp is in a state of good flux. Making it simpler, WhatsApp launches a new Shopping Cart. At first, the shopping button was added in November, following the Shopping Carts feature in WhatsApp. Making it simpler for the user to access the business catalog, WhatsApp placed the storefront symbol next to the business account name.
WhatsApp says that “more and more shopping” is happening through chats. So they want to make buying and selling even easier by adding this new feature. Over 175 million people used the service to message a WhatsApp Business account each day of late October, the company said. Businesses manage their WhatsApp presence via the WhatsApp Business app, which had over 50 million users worldwide as of July this year.
The Shopping Cart feature is geared towards businesses, which sell multiple items on WhatsApp and will make it easier for customers and businesses. And also to keep track of the products being bought and sold in a single order. The order could be from a local bakery or a clothing store, where a customer might choose more than one item.
This will let users browse a catalog, select multiple products, and send the order as one message to the businesses. It will also ensure that businesses can keep track of order inquiries, requests from customers, and close sales, says WhatsApp. So instead of the customer sending multiple messages about various products, the business gets one dedicated message.
The feature is available in Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, Mexico, the U.K., and the U.S on both Android and iPhone. It will be rolling out around the world soon.
