WhatsApp starts rolling out a new group call feature

WhatsApp is consistently updating its services with a lot of new features. On Monday WhatsApp rolled out a new feature for group call feature. This new feature will allow users to join the group calls that they have missed. This update will also let you drop off from the call in the middle and re-join. You can re-join the call only as long as the call is going on.

Until now users can only join the call or the persons in the call can only add. If you miss the call then you should also ask the person in the call to add you. Now with this update you can join directly in the call that you have missed before. In the blogpost WhatsApp mentions that this feature will bring in ease to the users to join the group calls.

According to the screenshots by Wabetainfo you will have a join button in the call logs.  You can see this option to join the call only if the call is still going on. They have redesigned the Calls info tab that will now give you info about all the invite calls that you have missed. You can now check the list of members that are also in the call before joining the call. We will also get an ignore button so that we can ignore the group call invite.

The beta version of this feature was spotted testing on the WhatsApp iOS version. The beta version also had the interface similar to the Apple’s FaceTime. After a short time the same update came to Android and looks similar to the iOS beta version.

So, that’s been it. Thank you for reading, and do share the article if you get a bit piece of information. Also, keep  an eye on this space for more relevant updates. Stay safe, and we hope to see you around.
